Nikolai Obukhov -The Third and Last Testament for 5 voices, croix sonore,organ,2 pianos and orchestra
The Third and Last Testament(1946) is undoubtedly one of the first if not the first ever piece of music to involve electronics ( croix sonore).
Nikolai Obukhov(1892-1954) is a composer that together with other luminaries such as Protopopov, Roslavets, etc formed a groundbreaking foundation for new Russian musics. Not only he turned to dodecaphonic and other new techniques before Schönberg, but also, unlike Schönberg, Webern and Berg as well as their followers Boulez, Babbitt, Stockhausen and Xenakis, his music did possess neither any shock value nor any constructivist influences.
