St Leger winner? Continuous advertises Classic claims with Great Voltigeur rout

Continuous is the new 5/2 favourite for the final British Classic of the season, the G1 St Leger following his peerless performance in the G2 Sky Bet Great Voltigeur Stakes. Ridden by Ryan Moore and trained by Aidan O’Brien, the son of Heart’s Cry ran out a decisive three and three-quarter length winner of the extended 12-furlong event on the Knavesmire. Frankie Dettori and 8/11 favourite Gregory set the early fractions in the contest. However, their early exertions put paid to their chances close home with Gregory fading into third. Castle Way took up the lead entering the three-furlong pole, but always looked a sitting duck for the winner, who returned at 4/1, as he careered away close home to score in decisive fashion.
