We have finally prepared the site for the Twin Rotor Venturi Wind Turbine. We found new life to an old wind generator tower that was sitting dormant, “as so many are in Western Canada“ I would love to see more of these towers come to life again with a more modern machine.
The tower was repaired and the top mast that use to mount the generator and slip rings was replaced with a new mount . We mounted platform to make repairs and mantainence easier. Everything fit like a glove and the TRV 4 now stands 40 feet above the ground with great wind exposure on the Assiniboine River Valley. The trout pond is 850 feet away from the mill and it is secluded between two peaks. There is no electricity and very little wind at the pond itself. This will be a good test for the machine as it can provide both aeration and battery charging at the same time. This customer hangs lights above his pond in the summer to attract insects for them to feed on.
There is also interest regarding water pumping with the windmill as m
