Seaplane Be-200/Aviation Takeoff Beriev Be-200 Altair multipurpose amphibious aircraft

The Be-200 was created on the basis of the scientific and technical backlog obtained during the implementation of the A-40 Albatros anti-submarine amphibious aircraft program. This made it possible to obtain high flight and seaworthiness characteristics on a new machine with significantly reduced development time and material costs due to the almost complete exclusion of experimental work in hydrodynamics and a sharp decrease in the volume of work in aerodynamics.
