That started to change in the 2000s. After the end of the Monday Night War, and with no or little competition to speak of, World Wrestling Entertainment seemed to be getting stale. In addition, fans of the industry beyond WWE were starting to grow disenchanted with the way the company presented itself and new wrestlers to the system as “rookies“ or “less than“ which was something not done before. Fourteen years after the angle shocked many WWE fans out of that complacency, we look back at the Nexus invasion angle from how well it started to how quickly it deteriorated.
