A returning sunspot region now reassigned AR 3869 produced a strong X3.3 solar flare at 03:57 UTC (Oct 24, 2024). A type II radio emission with an estimated velocity of 610 km/s was recorded. The event is associated with a coronal mass ejection (CME) that should be directed mostly to the east and away from Earth. A further update will be provided via the website once full coronagraph imagery is available.
