GIN GLIDERS ::: Wave leading edge — WHEN NATURE MEETS ENGINEERING

WHEN NATURE MEETS ENGINEERING The “Wave Leading Edge” is inspired by the tubercles of the humpback whale and has been realised through the “GIN LAB”, a wind tunnel project run in collaboration with Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology in South Korea. The Wave Leading Edge delays the airfoil separation point, which increases lift for all angles of attack and decreases drag at low angles of attack. The result is a wing that has more performance, yet is easier to fly.
