Gaza’s Paralympian: Sole athlete from the Strip competes in Paris Games
The Paralympic Games are officially underway, following a four-hour opening ceremony, in the French capital.
Paris is hosting more than 4,400 athletes with physical, visual and intellectual impairments. They will compete in more than 20 sports over 11 days.
Fadi Aldeeb is the sole athlete from Gaza competing at the Games.
He left the strip a few years ago, but can’t escape the pain of the ongoing war.
Al Jazeera’s Sohail Malik reports.
