M3 Half-track - Walkaround - Stavelot.
The M3 half-track was an American armored
personnel carrier half-track
widely used by the Allies during WWII.
It was derived from the M2 half-track car,
when the development of an armored half-track
began with a newordnance directive in 1940 to convert
the M3 Scout Car into a half-track.
It had the same chassis and engine as the M3,
but had larger front wheels and a shorter front clip.
The M3 was tested at Aberdeen Proving Grounds in the summer
of 1941 and was accepted into service soon after.
It would see action in Europe and the Pacific.
and would also see action in Korea after WWII.
the M3 was extensively produced,
with about 15,000 standard M3s and more than 38,000
variant units manufactured.
It would be used by many countries and
is still used by some countries today.
