Ingrid Haebler Plays Chopin Waltzes (Complete). 1970
Ingrid Haebler (1926-2023) was an Austrian pianist. Her father was a baron and she was exposed to many great musicians while growing up which influenced her choice of becoming a musician. She was particularly well known for her playing of Mozart - which one critic described as “delicate but never finicky.“ She recorded a series of Mozart recordings for Denon in the 1950s that are still considered among the best Mozart recordings. I think the “delicate but not finicky“ description equally equally applies to her interpretation of Chopin Waltzes in this recording.
