Pioneerien Taistelulaulu - Song of the Finnish Pioneers [Sanat] [Eng sub] In the German tradition (which Finland follows) the engineers of the army aren’t simply construction units, but actively takes part in battle, essentially used as heavy infantry. Their jobs covers everything concerning MOVEMENT, including speeding up the movement of ones own forces and slowing the enemy down. The Pioneers are the second oldest branch of Finlands own independent armed forces, being trained in Germany during WWI alongside the Jaeger Corps. All footage is from the national archive at:
