Jacobite train passing Glenfinnan Viaduct

The unusual structure set against impressive landscapes. This historic viaduct was, when built as part of the west coast line at the beginning of the 20th century, one of the first major concrete engineering structures in the UK since the Romans. Even on a cold, wet, misty day, the Viaduct has a romance to it, both as you go over it by train and also as you watch the steam train go over it near the Glenfinnan Monument, where you will find yourself surrounded by Harry Potter fans from around the world.
