A song about the fear of being alone, and a unique situation where there is romantic interest but not from the person you really want. I wrote this song when I was 17, and I remixed and redid the vocals to get the production quality to a level where I was happy with it.
Lyrics (cc available):
I’ve gotta get off this street I’m walking on
Because I gotta be afraid of it
I gotta be afraid
When life gets harder
Who will I see
Because I just can’t bear to carry on alone
Well what you need some company
I need need you oh
And can’t you see we could be
Together alone the other one finds me charming
Well would you wake up my darling
She’s got feelings for me
But my pet love is starving
And she’s talking when we speak
Would you wake up my darling
Would you wake up my darling
I know it’s on me
I’m thinking out loud in my head
These feelings aren’t clear
Help
Show me how to show you that I want you here
I don’t know if you feel the same
So I pack my bags and run
It’s been a while since you’ve said my name
I don’t want you just for fun
Let me know let me know
Do I even stand a chance
Feeling low feeling low
Overthinking all my plans
Stuck in chase as I second guess
Don’t know love the game
Cos my patience is breaking
Well what you need some company
I need you oh
And can’t you see we could be
We could be everything
Well would you wake up my darling
She’s got feelings for me
But my pet love is starving
And she’s talking when we speak
Well what you need some company
And can’t you see we could be
The night seems boring but we’ll make it
Flying through this town like we made it
Running off the fumes
Of jägerbombs and zoots
Late when it dies down then
I’ll tell you
Well what you need
And can’t you see
Would you wake up my darling
Well what you need some company
And can’t you see we could be
Would you wake up my darling
About Kay Seeyen :
My real name is Nick, I use KCN (NCK backwards) as my artist name. I’ve played the guitar since age 7, and I’ve been producing music as a hobby since I was 16 - constantly evolving and maturing in my production and songwriting. I handle every stage of the music process almost entirely by myself, including the production, sound engineering, writing, visual art, social media, and instrumentation.
I’ve always struggled to describe what genre my music lies in; I draw inspiration from several styles, namely hip hop, soul / funk, electronica, indie, and pop.
