Family pleads for help after Israeli strike leaves daughter unrecognisable
Ten-year-old Hanan Aql was buying a cookie at a sweet shop in Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza when Israeli forces bombed the area on 8 June. She sustained severe burns to her face, hands, chest and feet, which left her almost unrecognisable.
Now, almost two weeks later, Hanan’s mother is seeking help to send her daughter abroad for medical treatment, as healthcare facilities in Gaza lack the resources to properly treat her severe injuries.
