750BHP COMPOUND TURBO K24 POWERED AWD MAZDA RX7

Gavin Bey AKA Bee Gee, made the trip down from Perth in Scotland to Santa Pod Raceway in Northampton, to race at the Flame & Thunder Show, in his Mazda RX7. Not your Usual RX7. Gav’s one is running a fully built Honda K24 engine, with his own designed Pulsar compound turbo setup, managed by a Maxx ECU, and putting the power down via a BMW X5 M gearbox and front diff, with a BMW 7 series rear diff. Why be the same as everyone else :) The car has the potential for 1000 bhp, but on the day, the estimate was 700 to 750bhp. PB before the event was a 9.4 on an unprepped track. He blew this out the water with two 9.0 runs, narrowly missing his goal of . The trap speed was down, and Gavin explained this was due to coolant pressure issues, and the sensors were cutting power at the top end.
