The EP features two extensive songs with a total playing time of over 40 minutes. ​Similar to previous releases, ‘Hermalausaz’ contains both modern and classic Black Metal elements, ambient archaic folklore patterns, supported by dark chants and classical instruments. The lyrics are written in Old Norse poetic form and are highly inspired by the cryptic runic inscription of the western Norwegian Eggja rune
