Phenomenal Consciousness. The Path to the Nature of Mind

We are glad to present the inaugural film “Phenomenal Consciousness“ from the series “The Path to the Nature of Mind,” a project by Andrian Melnikov, featuring Prof. Tatiana Chernigovskaya, Prof. Nicholas Humphrey, and Prof. Alexander Kaplan. On May 5, 2023, in the picturesque garden of the Norbulingka Institute in Dharamsala, India, a remarkable discussion on the essence of phenomenal consciousness unfolded. Distinguished scientists and scholars, Prof. Tatiana Chernigovskaya, Prof. Nicholas Humphrey, and Prof. Alexander Kaplan, engaged in this enlightening conversation. Venerable Priyadarshi, serving as the moderator for this unique gathering, invited the participants to summarize the preliminary results of the Animal Consciousness Conference. As is often the case, the conversation went far beyond the original topic. The participants prompted one another and their prospective viewers to contemplate fundamental inquiries: How does one change their mind? Does the world require consciousness? What is happiness? and How, when we peer into the mirror each morning, do we know that we see ourselves?
