1895 Sugar Cutter Restoration — Teahouse tool

Hello folks! Today I want to show a new restoration. This is a special rusty cutter for cutting lump sugar. As usual, I found it among the iron junk at the flea market. This item of the late 19th century, it was used in teahouses. It was nailed to large wooden stumps and sugar was chopped there. The first duty I took apart the cutter, removing the old rivets. And put it in a rust remover. Next, I cleaned the surface with an iron brush and moved on to adjusting the details. I did this with a file. Then sanded with fine sandpaper and treated all parts with nitric acid to avoid rust in the future. On a lathe wood machine, I turned out a new wooden handle
