OPETH: ’It’s Bittersweet To Come Up With Great Music’

Ever since their debut album Orchid was released in 1995 the Swedish progressive metal band Opeth has spent a large part of its time on the road. Now on their 12th album with Sorceress, frontman and composer Mikael Åkerfeldt is finding it increasingly more difficult to balance the creative work and touring, especially because of his children. “When they’re really young, and you come back, they are shy, or even don’t recognize you. As you can imagine that is horrible. It almost stops me from wanting to get on with the creative side because it might make you even more in demand and give you offers you can’t refuse.”
