LVMPD Shoots Man After He Fires At Police

On July 24, 2017, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police were investigating a crime that happened the prior day. The shooting happened in the 4600 block of Goldfield Street near 5th Street and E. Craig Road when the officers found a vehicle matching the description of a vehicle used in a shooting. When Metro approached the vehicle, the suspects drove away from the area, police said. A short police pursuit ensued, but Metro called it off due to safety precautions. The suspects eventually crashed, and gun fire was exchanged between the suspects and officers when the suspect fired a round into the air. The suspects were hit. They were taken to University Medical Center where they’re said to be stable. No of the officers were hurt. This is LVMPD’s 13th officer involved shooting in 2017.
