Hans Bettembourg (Sweden) 1970 WEIGHTLIFTING Hansjörg “Hans“ Bettembourg (born 28 March 1944 in Neuruppin) is a Swedish former weightlifter who competed in the 1972 Summer Olympics (Medal Bronze). Hans Bettembourg had the following podium finishes at major championships: 3rd in the 1972 Olympics Middle-Heavyweight class (512.5 kg); 3rd in the 1972 World Championships Middle-Heavyweight class (512.5 kg). He set 11 press world records in light- and middle-heavyweight from 1969-72. Height: 5-7.5 (172 cm). Weight: 205 lbs (93 kg).
