Continuing my exploration of The Jubalaires, I’ve created a remix of “Brother Bill“, a 1945 Soundie. Merging the vintage gospel sound with 1970s/1980s funk, disco, and R&B, this remix also features my own voice for added harmonies and backing vocals for the first time!
Original track here:
To craft the Hammond organ parts, I used the exceptional “Waterfall B3“ instrument from @UniversalAudio. Visually, I’ve expanded the original Soundies footage of The Jubalaires with various clips from the Prelinger Archives for a unique visual experience.
Jubilaires samples and footage originally from the Prelinger Archives.
Initially known as the Royal Harmony Singers, The Jubalaires were an American gospel group active during the 1940s and 1950s.
