The album presents the great maestro of the bamboo flute, Hariprasad Chaurasia. The first volume begins with raga Brindabani Sarang, an afternoon melody from the land of Lord Krishna. The artiste has rendered this expansive raga beautifully giving it a detailed treatment in an inspired alap-jod sequence followed by two sprightly gat - one in madhyalaya jhaptala and the other in drut teentala. This is followed by a thumri in raga Manjh Khammaj. Here the artiste has given the raga an embellished and lyrical treatment as is wont in thumri.
