He is recognised as one of the leading performer of the instrument Sitar. Born in a family of musical tradition, Debaprasad started grooming at the age of 5 under his father Sri Adhindra Mohan Chakraborty, also received rigorous training from Pt. Ajay Sinha Roy in the Style of playing which is widely known as “Baba Alauddin Khan’s “ Senia Maihar gharana”. Including valuable training from Pandit Gokul Nag of Bishnupur Gharana. As a “Top Grade“ Artist Pt. Debaprasad has enriched his music based on “dhrupad style”. His imaginative sense, creative musical wit and brilliant performance are well taken by his listeners. He achieved National Senior Fellowship from Govt. of India and many other awards. He perform continuously in major musical festival in India and abroad inclusive Germany .
