On social networks, impressive videos showed vehicles swept away in the city center, locals with hip-deep water and Cannes station submerged. Flooded cars, special vigilance on Cannes roads, Mistral and Picaud roads in La Bocca, Paillassou highway, Riou and République districts. Mayor David Lisnard said that no severe weather warnings were previously received. The city of Cannes was put on yellow alert by Météo France for “thunderstorms” and “rain floods” throughout the morning, as was the entire Alpes-Maritimes department.
