Chandrasekhars association with Bharatanatyam goes back 63 years when he joined the Kalakshetra, the internationally acclaimed abode of the Arts. His strict training along with his own devotion, dedication and unwavering focus has given him the strength and experience to continue to perform with energy and involvement to this day with the blessings of his mentor Devi. During this long journey, Chandrasekhar has taught, performed and choreographed throughout the globe. As the former Dean and Professor at the Faculty of performing Arts, Baroda University and his long sojourn at Varanasi have been of great help in acquiring his academic acumen. He is the recipient of the very prestigious awards from the central and state governments and foremost Ari institutions of the country. With his wife jaya and daughters Chitra and Manjari, who are all established dancers of the country, Chandrasekhar now countries to work from Chennai
