John Moody, better known as the father of ultralights, demonstrates his revolutionary powered Icarus II hang glider at the EAA fly-in and convention in Oshkosh in 1976. Moody’s demonstrations with this design led directly to the creation of FAR Part 103 and the modern ultralight movement.
