Max Woiski jr. and his orchestra - Manhã Di Carnival - 17 April 1964 • World of Jazz

In 1961 Max Woiski jr . started a nightclub in Amsterdam called: La Tropicana. Many great artists showed up like Ella Fitzgerald, Errol Garner and Harry Belafonte to listen to Max and his orchestra. They played from eight to two o’clock every night. Mostly South American music but also the Surinamese traditionals. In an interview Max said: “In those years I’ve made a lot of money and spend a lot of money.” The footages comes from the reality serie ‘Mackintosh’, which is about Max Woiski jr his life. Only two episodes of the whole serie have been preserved. In this episode (March 17, 1964) we see Max Woiski jr. and his members of his regular La Tropicana backing band.
