Grokit Release Trailer | Meta Quest 3 Mixed Reality

Grokit is a hand tracking multiplayer mixed reality game aimed at rapid fire interactions. Inspired by WarioWare™ and Mario Party™, players are dropped into bizarre situations where they must evaluate their environment and act in a short amount of time. How does a player know just what to do? A card shows the hand gestures used for each microgame. Players will be able to quickly grok the interactions and be clawing their way out of trouble or chomping their way to success. This game can be played in your own room with mixed reality passthrough on all Meta Quest headsets or in traditional virtual reality in a variety of handcrafted environments. Grokit is built from the ground up to leverage more of what the new hardware can do, and we’re doing it in a fun way. It’s got mixed reality with passthrough and scene understanding, and is designed for hand tracking. Scene understanding allows the game to interact with the players’ real life furniture and walls for collisions and positioning. Hand tracking allows for direct interactions, with no need to deal with controllers. The game was designed using deterministic multiplayer physics, which means you are going to hear, feel, and sense the actions of other players as if they are all in your play space. When an imp gets blasted by an ice bolt and comes crashing down on your desk, all players see the same interaction. Yes, it is super slick! Players are encouraged to ‘play their way,’ with multiple character customization options available for avatars, hats, and watches, as well as a selection of environments and music. Grokit is an excellent option as an on-boarding app for new MR/VR users because it’s easy to pick up, or grok, and the engaging challenges can be enjoyed in short play sessions.
