Trisha Brown - Newark (Ballet de l’Opéra de Lyon)
The artistic collaboration between Trisha Brown and the Ballet de l’Opéra de Lyon has given rise to two works with the marked colors of the American choreographer: “Newark“ and “For MG: The Movie“. A passage of witnesses.
“For MG: The Movie“ is the most beautiful way to salute this visionary who supported the American avant-garde in his time. In a scenography that combines smoke and black walls, Alvin Curran’s score marries this series of movements with poetic minimalism. The dance is whispered there. And Trisha Brown confirms her status as a major artist of this between two centuries. Lyon returns her the most vibrant of salutes in this auspicious season. Dance.
Watch “Newark“ here:
Newark is for many ones, of Trisha Brown’s greatest works. We are delighted to (re)discover it here. To complete this masterful program, the star Brown will dazzle us in this tribute to Michel Guy, former Minister of Culture.
