Unwind During the Composition of Re-Entry | Light Hunter Series

Follow me on my process of painting a new piece in my Light Hunter Series. A large scale painting entitled Re-Entry consisting of two 60“ x 60“ canvases, creating a final diptych of 120“ x 60“ The evolution of this piece took longer than usual for certain paintings reach a conclusion and I put them aside. At the same time, they don’t feel quite “settled” or “finished”. After a period of time, if upon contemplation I discover another way in, I develop the painting further. Sometimes it may be just a few moves that deliver the sensation of ease in the work that allows me to consider it “finished”. Other times the painting will get lost and a new one will emerge. I wonder if I am witnessing my own growth or expansion. Have I passed through a portal into a new dimension?
