One of the largest cities in the Reach, the border town of Karthwasten acts as a major center for trade along the borders of Skyrim and Hammerfell, welcoming merchants from all quarters, as well as providing easy access to the trade routes of the Karth River, which provides the city with a connection to Markarth and Haafingar further up north.
