Sunspot blasts third powerful x-flare in a week

Sunspot AR3842 erupted with an X2-class solar flare on Oct. 7, 2024. The same sunspot blasted X9 and X7 flares in the last week. NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory captured the fireworks.
