Weeeeell... ------------------ English Name of the Event: X-Hunter Translation of Japanese Name: Accommodation! Counter-Hunter X (I don’t know how to translate those two kanji. That’s the only thing Google gives me in response) ------------------ I wanna be positive since my channel slowly turns into a toxic waste as DiVE continues. I’m sorry about that, I’m slowly working on other projects atm that can be considered a love letter to this franchise, X-series in particular (since it’s my favorite series out of all 7). That’s why I’ll try to explain why I don’t like Kai’s inclusion in DiVE. I’ll try to be as optimistic here as I can. Kai came here from a different dimension, much like Netto-kun and Saito-kun last year. Unlike the twins, Kai got stuck here, unable to leave. He decided to attack the Hunter Base so he would fight X to get rid of him and his nickname of “X’s Copy“ for good. How exactly he got here is unknown, however. My main problem with this is... he might’ve come from a different dimention which is what our current canon can become. I might be paranoic, but as a Newfag of the Old (my new original term, because I knew this franchise for 3 years and I just don’t really like what is going on now. If Capcom failed at making praising them after giving to mane attention to Axl and X7 in general at the moment, this should mean something)... As a Newfag of the Old... I’m really protective about this great franchise’s legacy. You see... Originally, Counter-hunters were meant to be Four Heavenly Kings-type-of-characters with the fourth member of the group being a female repliroid. She (along with Violen’s second form) was cut due hardware limitations. And, like, 30 years after that the current lead artist Keisuke Mizuho decided to create a clone of X for TruForce Collectibles’ line of X-series action figures. The reason was that he was surprised Capcom didn’t have a vilian who looked EXACTLY like X, and he used the concept of the fourth Counter-Hunter while assigning Kai. X had two evil clones of himself before actually. The first one was iX - a parasite doppelganger of X who had the similar goal of killing the original all by himself and who was ASSURING that X won’t die until he would be able to confront him himself. But that character maybe partually belongs to Bandai Namco so I think he would only appear in the future if DiVE would crossover with one of their franchises -(thus why I’m waiting for Tales crossover to happen ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°))- And the other one was Copy X who was a perfect copy of the original who went insane because of the situation he was put into and because he didn’t have 30 years of morality tests with him. Zero-series was done by Inti Creates though. Maybe Mizuho was reffering to Capcom themselves not making evil clones of X, but still - it was done before twice. Also Capcom retconed Kai’s bio too. He was created by Wily from the blueprints of original Rockman he stole, but Kai was never finished until Sagesse found him one hundred years later. Now he was created from *X’s* stolen blueprints which makes no sense at all. OK, I think I said everything that I wanted. I wanna enjoy the rest of my summer break while it’s still going. :P
