This transect is located on the southern flank of the seamount “Mayday” (SyGR1; , ), our first seamount of this cruise. The dive will start at ~1200 m depth and go upslope to the regional summit at ~490 m. This seamount is a guyot located along the eastern extent of the Salas y Gómez Ridge where we expect the nutrient concentrations in the surface waters to be higher than many of the seamounts west of this seamount.
Thank you for exploring along with us!
