A high school English competition promising a trip to London for the finalists provides hope for Raya to escape the desperate situation, but not before a social worker raises an alarm on the youngster’s living situation - and their grandmother’s strange disappearance - shortly after Raya finishes in the top three and qualifies for the trip.
