Another fantastic release of devoted outsider experimentalism from the . camp.
One of the most idiosyncratic and exotic works from the label as of late, Lightning Undersun is pretty much audially unclassifiable, rather seems more arranged as a collage of different experiments with antagonistic genres that’s put together as it follows always a fine conceptual thread of medieval worship and modern atavism.
Sounding often quite similar with some works of label mates in Gargoyle, namely the “The Fools“ compilation with the incursions into Di6-ish Neofolk melancholia, ominous organs and Dark Ambient psychic explorations, Lightning Undersun also nourishes on plenty of elements of late-era Occulted Death Stance, like the blown-out Black Metal-inspired parts in “Lightning“, the experiments with Noise and looping or even the Cabaret Voltaire-ish Industrial passages.
