Harvard students protest with die-in and poetry by Refaat Alareer for Gaza
Harvard students gathered on Monday for a die-in protest on the steps of Widener Library, which was part of the “Harvard Out of Occupied Palestine” emergency rally.
During the demonstration, students recited the poetry of Palestinian writer Refaat Alareer, who was killed by Israel alongside his family in December.
Since the outbreak of the war, US college and university campuses have seen a rise in tensions between pro-Israel and pro-Palestine student protesters, which have escalated into changes in university leadership and angry donors who pulled support over pro-Palestinian protests.
