Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, Self-Actualization and Self-Transcendence

In this presentation we give a complete guide to Abraham Maslow’s famous theory of human motivation, commonly know as Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. We examine each stage of the model and focus particularly on the peak of the pyramid: Self-Actualization. We identify many characteristics of self-actualized individuals and some prominent examples from history. Next we go on to look at how we can become self-actualised ourselves and we identify a variety of obstacles/traps that may become apparent on this journey. Then we look at the lesser known peak of the pyramid know as Self-Transcendence and how we can go onto to achieve this pinnacle of human development.
