Notre Dame Anniversary (1964)

Unissued / Unused material - Paris, France. Two LS of Notre Dame Cathedral. MS Entrance to the Cathedral. MS President Charles De Gaulle and Madame de Gaulle arriving and entering Notre Dame to celebrate the 800th Anniversary of the Cathedral. MS De Gaulle walks up aisle and takes his place in front of the altar. VS Arrival of Cardinal Marella who represents the Pope. He enters Notre Dame and he bows to the President. He takes the ceremony and President de Gaulle kneels to pray, the large congregation also. MS De Gaulle leaves Notre Dame, he pauses outside and puts his glasses on and takes them off almost straightaway, he gets into car and off he goes. VS At night Cardinal Marella with the Archdeacon of Paris Mg. Feltin board a Seine river bus. They take their seats on the open deck to view the floodlit buildings along the Seine. VS At night on the Seine, river buses gaily lit and the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame and French Assembly etc. (F.G.) Old record suggests material dates from around 02/06/1964
