The Ritchie Family: Life Is Music [Full Album, Lyrics + Bonus] (1977)

Hot on the heels of The Ritchie Family’s summer hit of 1976. The Best Disco In Town, Jacques Morali, Henri Belolo & Richie Rome wasted no time in getting the next album ready. The group’s third album (but Cheryl, Cassandra & Gwendolyn’s second only, as they didn’t sing on the Brazil album) was released the last week of January 1977 in a glossy, lavish gatefold cover, all dressed in expensive fur coats (while that was still fashionable) on the innersleeve. The title track, Life Is Music, was released as the only single, with an extended Lady Luck as a 12“ Disco Single, and while the ladies proved popular with the DJ’s (both tracks peaked at #8 on Billboard’s Disco Charts), Life Is Music could not repeat the universal success of Best Disco. It stalled outside of Billboard’s Hot 100, failed to chart at all in the UK, and only made it to #50 in Germany.
