Tennis is a game played by two or four players using rackets and a ball on a specially marked court. The game is played by hitting the ball back and forth between the players, with the aim of landing it within the boundaries of the court.
A tennis match consists of players taking turns serving and returning the ball, trying to outscore their opponent. Points are awarded in increments of 15, 30, 40, with a game won by a player needing to win at least four points and have a lead of at least two points over their opponent. If the score reaches 40-40 (deuce) and neither player wins the next point, it’s called “advantage.“
Tennis can be played in singles (one player against one player) or doubles (two players against two players). Major tournaments such as the Olympics and Grand Slam events (some of the highest-profile tennis tournaments) feature both singles and doubles matches.
Tennis is a game that requires strategy, skill, athleticism, and mental fortitude, and it’s enjoyed by millions of people worldwide. There are numerous tennis tournaments held around the globe, with some of the most renowned ones including Wimbledon, the US Open, the French Open, and the Australian Open.
