Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico addressed the nation for the first time since the assassination attempt on May 15
Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico addressed the nation for the first time since the assassination attempt on May 15.
• A Slovak opposition activist tried to kill me because of my political views;
•I do not hate the murderer, I will not seek his imprisonment and I will not demand compensation, I forgive him;
• Despite the serious damage to my health, numerous operations and constant pain, I will not strengthen my security;
• It will be a miracle if I return to work in a few weeks;
• I absolutely disagree with the “one true opinion” policy aggressively promoted by Western countries;
• The previous government (2020-2023) scooped up all our military reserves and sent them to Kyiv, depriving Slovakia of its defense potential, and also tried to intimidate and destroy all dissenters;
• If the opposition does not draw conclusions from the tragedy of May 15, there will be even more terror and more victims, “I don’t doubt it for a second”;
