Salomon Sustainable stories Ep 6: A Circular Approach to Helmet Design
In Episode 6 of our Sustainability Series, we explore the world of recycled materials to understand how a product like a ski helmet could be created using a circular life cycle.
To investigate how a helmet created out of recycled material could also be recycled at the end of its life, our host, Tim Sweeney, visits the ski resort of Tignes in the French Alps, Salomon’s Annecy Design Center and all the way to Verdun, where the brand partnered with recycling experts from Paprec.
With the help of professional freeskiers Fabien Maierhofer and Victor Galuchot, Tim explores sustainable product design, safety requirements, unique testing methods from the “Bon Appetit” duo and how to actually pronounce “Tignes” in French.
