Putin’s ’Nazi’ claims genuine? Russia fumes as Zelensky shares soldier’s pic with skull insignia
An image shared by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky seems to prove Russian leader Vladimir Putin’s Nazi claims about Kyiv’s forces right. Ukrainian President Zelensky has posted a photo of a soldier sporting a symbol used by a notorious German unit that killed civilians in World War II. It is not the first time Ukrainian soldiers and paramilitaries have been photographed displaying insignia and tattoos associated with Nazism. The black-and-white skull-head patch on the soldier’s arm in the pic shared by Zelensky is similar to the “Totenkopf“ insignia used by Adolf Hitler’s elite SS units. Notably, Ukraine’s Azov Regiment, which is currently fighting Russians, is also well known for welcoming fighters with openly Nazi views. Remember, Russian President Vladimir Putin claims that “denazification“ is one of the reasons Moscow launched a military operation in Ukraine. Watch this report for more.
