Full title reads: “London. Queen of all May Queens! 11 year old Primrose Atkins of Beckenham crowned in the good old-fashioned way by the ’Prince of Merrie England“. London. Procession of May Queen . Her carriage is pulled by small children in fancy dress - some of the girls are dressed as fairies. In the background we can see children May Pole dancing. C/U young girl dressed as ’Prince of Merry England’ with silly hat and fake long hair crowns the May Queen, Primrose Atkins. ’He’ kisses her on the cheek. The May Queen, sitting on a throne, greets other May Queens from various parts of London. Crowds gather around to watch large demonstration of May Pole dancing.
