Sheep Shearing (1964)

Maidenhead, Berkshire. Various shots show world champion sheep shearer Godfrey Bowen from New Zealand shearing sheep in a demonstration for English farmers. The demonstration takes place in a farmyard with a large crowd of farmers and members of the public gathered round to watch. At the end of the shearing session for one sheep, Godfrey holds up the fleece, all in one piece; a man in a white coat folds fleeces on a table. Several shorn sheep are herded into a pen by a farmer. Note: commentator insists on calling Godfrey ’Geoffrey’ throughout the story. There is a press release on file regarding Godfrey’s UK Tour. Cuts exist - see separate record.
