Black Gold (1963)

Eakring, Nottinghamshire. A story about an oil well in the Nottinghamshire countryside. There are various shots of the rig working in the middle of a field and the mechanisms in action. The narrator says Britain produces 111,000 tons of oil every year. Various shots as a man ties two pieces of wire together in the field and stretches it out. The narrator explains he is a geologist laying microphones to pick up sound waves from explosions. We see sheep and cows wandering about. Various shots of geologists in a van, they check the results of a controlled explosion in the field.
