No it does not in any way touch the game’s files nor does it change any values in-game -So then, it runs in the background? Well, no it does not run in the background either -How in the world does it even work then? Good question. It is ReShade. It works through Window’s DirectX drivers. It launches at the beginning with the game and that’s it. It does not stay running in the background because Windows takes care of it after the game is launched. ReShade renders the effects on your screen separately and does not really tamper with the game itself. The game is running and Reshade is taking information from DirectX making it a relation between reshade and your monitor. In the end all these effects are being called only in your monitor! And the game is staying Vanilla! -Then this is a filter? Well yes but no. More like an advance
