Las Vegas High School Mariachi Joya ensemble performs a famous Mexican folkksong at National Night Out event on Oct. 4 in honor of the National Hispanic Heritage Month. Stephen Blanco is the musical director of this superb band which was awarded recently as national premier Mariachi school band. “La Bamba“ became a worldwide sensation with the rock ’n roll version recorded by Mexican-American Ritchie Valens in 1958.
